Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
This policy describes what data Esquad collects, why it is needed and what happens to it. We collect only what the service needs to work, and we never sell data to third parties.
1. What data we collect
- account: email, nickname and password (we store only its hash);
- when signing in via Steam — your SteamID and public Steam profile name;
- profile: avatar, description, selected games and in-game parameters (rank, roles, etc.);
- content: requests, responses, chat messages, reviews and ratings, ideas and comments;
- support requests and reports — together with the IP address, to prevent abuse;
- technical data: session cookies and interface preferences (theme, language).
2. Why we use it
- running your account and signing you in;
- showing requests, profiles and reputation to other players — that is what the service is for;
- chats and in-service notifications;
- moderation: handling reports, fighting spam and ban evasion;
- improving the service based on anonymized usage statistics.
We do not show ads and do not share data with advertising networks.
3. Game statistics
If you link Steam, we request your public game statistics via the Steam Web API and OpenDota and show them on your profile. We only receive data that is public under your Steam privacy settings; you can close it there at any time.
4. Cookies and browser storage
Sign-in uses httpOnly cookies with session tokens — page scripts and third-party sites cannot read them. Your browser's localStorage keeps interface preferences and a data cache that speeds up loading. There are no advertising or third-party analytics trackers on the site.
5. Who can access the data
Public content — requests, profile, reviews — is visible to other users: that is what it is published for. Private messages are visible only to the participants of the conversation and may be reviewed by moderation when handling reports.
Data is processed on our own infrastructure. The only external requests go to Steam and OpenDota — to fetch game statistics. We may disclose data only when required by law.
6. Retention and deletion
Data is stored for as long as you have an account. You can edit your profile data, email and password in the account settings. To delete your account, contact us via the feedback form — your profile and requests will be deleted, and your messages in shared chats and reviews will be anonymized.
7. Security
The connection to the service is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as hashes, and session tokens are not accessible to page scripts. Nobody can guarantee absolute security, but we follow modern security practices.
8. Age
The service is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under this age.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; the date of the latest revision is shown at the top of the page. We will announce significant changes in the service. Ask questions about your data via the feedback form.
